About Wiltshire Skills 4 Success
Wiltshire Skills 4 Success is a tailored programme helping to support Wiltshire’s young people, from primary school all the way up to the age of 24, to gain the basic skills and knowledge they need to move successfully from school into further education, training or employment. Through this programme we are improving young people’s preparedness for the world of work whilst they participate in enjoyable and worthwhile activities.
The programme has so far supported more than 6,000 young people in Wiltshire through a myriad of activities including inspiring Role Model visits, Mentors from Business, School Entrepreneur Programme, Enterprise Days, Key Worker Support and Individual Resilience Training to gain the basic skills and knowledge necessary to make a successful transition from school into further education, training or employment. Wiltshire Skills 4 Success has engaged to date with all Wiltshire secondary schools and 120 primary schools as well as regular engagement/correspondence with Wiltshire College and Salisbury UTC, across the whole geography of the County. The programme has continually engaged with a variety of businesses and employers, ranging from SME’s to Danone, Atkins, Siemens and QinetiQ.
