MOD Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) manage a vast range of complex technical projects, procuring and supporting cutting edge engineering and science critical to deliver modern battle winning technologies to Her Majesty’s Forces. With the need to deliver some of the most advanced equipment on the planet involving technologies of tremendous speed, power and capacity, comes the need for DE&S to invest in world class engineering-related capability including engineers, mathematicians, scientists, quality and safety professionals and a range of supporting specialists.
They are currently looking for graduates to join their prestigious Defence Engineering and Science Group (DESG) Graduate scheme, a scheme which is fully accredited by six of the major Engineering Institutions: IMechE, IET, IMarEST, IOP, RAeS and RINA, and probably the best in the UK for Engineers and Scientists.
Most DESG Graduates have a permanent duty station of Bristol (voted the best place to live in the UK 2017!), although there are sometimes opportunities to be based in other areas including Devonport, Barrow, Rosyth, Clyde and the Air Warfare Centre at Lincoln. Graduates will be entitled to claim expenses in line with MOD policy when carrying out work placements away from their permanent duty station.
Start dates for successful candidates will be from September 2018 to January 2019, subject to successful completion of all pre-employment checks.
