The Action for Wiltshire Board which is made up of Wiltshire Council and key partners from industry and education, have signed up to a national initiative to inspire the next generation of engineers.

Nationally there is a shortfall in qualified engineering graduates and skilled technicians, and there is a government drive to change that by creating the Year of Engineering 2018. The aim is to celebrate UK engineering as government and industry work with schools and families to offer young people a positive experience.

Representatives on the board include Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire College, Selwood Housing, Community First and Inspire Wessex Chambers of Commerce. All have signed up to help drive this initiative by working with partners from throughout the industry, drawing on their expertise to inspire and motivate children and young people, from primary school age to graduates.
