An article by People Management released on 23rd October discusses what employers need to be aware of when it comes to case law and Social Media in and outside of work.

First and foremost it stresses the need for employers to have a valid Social Media policy in place – basic templates can be obtained online from ACAS for example, it’s better to be protected before an incident arises. The article carries on to explain recent case law in Plant vs API Microelectronics Limited, resulting in the employee being dismissed despite having a clean employee record beforehand. Therefore highlighting the damage a social media post gone wrong can have.
