MJ Church recruits engineers of the future

September has started well at MJ Church with with an intake of new apprentices joining across the business. In our Contracting Division we are really pleased to welcome Erin Wooster and Max Smith as Civil Engineering Apprentices.

Both Max and Erin have graduated with BTEC Level 3 in Construction and the Built Environment from the MJ Church Civil Engineering Academy at Wiltshire College. Both joined the Academy straight from completing their GCSE’s and were the first intake of the course when it setup over two years ago. They will now continue to work towards a degree through Wiltshire College and the apprenticeship scheme with MJ Church.

Erin is keen to focus on the Quantity Surveying and will joining the team who are working on our M49 project, working with Galliford Try to deliver a new junction for Highways England. Max will be joining our project team who are working on a car park and factory extension for Stonegate in Lacock, a project Max has been involved with during his work experience in his final year. For him working on a project from tender stage through to being on site has been a great learning experience and provided him with broad experience prior to deciding where he wants to specialise.
