Our Family and Community Learning Team are launching a new Family Wellbeing course from next week.

The course will develop learners’ awareness around managing stressful situations, building resilience, developing coping strategies and supporting children with their anxieties. This will be done by giving learners the practical tools and resources to support this process. The course is designed to enable learners to recognise the cause of anxieties and to put in place practical means that will support them. The activities embedded in this course give learners and their families the opportunity to develop communication skills, problem solving skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to be more resilient in times of stress.

The structure of the course will be a combination of online meetings, work for learners to carry out independently, discussion forums and an opportunity to contact the tutor for additional support/information. It will use a Virtual Learning Platform, which means learners can access everything from phones, tablets or computers and will not need to have software on their device.
