SUMMARY:ESOL Enhance your English - part 2
DESCRIPTION:What’s this course about?    Enhance Your English will help you to develop the English skills you need for further study\, work or volunteering.  These courses are ideal preparation if you are thinking of studying Functional Skills English or GCSE English. You will work on developing your skills in spelling\, punctuation\, grammar\, writing\, reading and communication in informal and supportive online classes.  and there will be learning activities to complete online too.       Course format:    This is an online course where you’ll learn together and take part in practical group activities\, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.    Who will benefit from attending?    This course will prepare learners for their next steps in further study (including Functional Skills English).     What will I learn?    Practical techniques to improve your written and spoken English       How to gain confidence in written communication by improving spelling commonly used words and using accurate punctuation   Explore writing techniques to improve your wellbeing. How long is the course?    These courses run as 2 x 5 x 2 hour sessions over 10 weeks\, with some activities to do at home to help you practise your skills.    Will I be assessed?    You will be required to complete some paperwork during this course. This will record and support your learning journey and successes.    Eligibility: Courses are no cost to learners who meet the eligibility criteria: Learners must be aged 19+ on 31 August 2024 to learn with Family and Community Learning this academic year.  Learners must also have a Wiltshire postcode and either have lived in the UK/EU for three years or meet certain residency requirements (for example\, certain types of immigration status are exempt from the three-year residency rule). Learners must also be able to tick one of the following criteria: On a lower income\, earning less than £25\,000 a year.In receipt of benefits (other than child benefit).Care leaver\, refugee\, foster carer\, carer\, military family / ex-armed forces personnel\, learning difficulty or disability\, or have school-aged children who receive free school meals.Not in work and looking to go into work\, now or in the future.If you do not feel you fit within the criteria\, we may still be able to help.  Please get in touch with us to discuss this further.
