SUMMARY:Exploring Confidence in Communication
DESCRIPTION:Location: Salisbury\n\nWhat’s this course about?  \n\nThis course aims to provide learners with skills to communicate effectively.  We will identify common types of communication and how we adjust our conversations according to who we are speaking to. We will use communication to meet our needs – whether that is shopping\, making appointments or making friends. \n\nCourse format:  \n\nThis is a face-to-face course where learners will learn together and take part in practical group activities\, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.  \n\nWho will benefit from attending?  \n\nPeople who are looking to improve confidence in their communication skills. \n\nWhat will I learn? \n\n 	We will explore the reasons that we communicate\, who we communicate with and how our communication styles change. \n\n\n 	We will identify appropriate types of communication \n\n\n 	We will participate in role plays to practise communicating so that they are familiar with scenarios \n\n\n 	We will explore how to communicate feelings effectively \n\n\n 	We will explore how to move an initial meeting to a friendship \n\n How long is the course?  \n\nA single 2-hour session. \n\nWill I be assessed?  \n\nYou will be required to complete some paperwork during this course. This will record and support your learning journey and successes.  \n\nEntry Requirements:\n\nFaCL courses are funded by the UK government via the Adult Skills Fund.\n\nCourses are no cost to learners who meet our eligibility criteria.  Learners must be aged 19+ on 31 August of the academic year\, have a Wiltshire postcode and meet certain residency requirements. They must also be able to tick one of the following criteria:\n\n 	On a lower income (individual income less than £25\,750 a year)\n\n\n 	In receipt of benefits (other than child benefit)\n\n\n 	Care leaver\, refugee\, foster carer\, carer\, military family / ex-armed forces personnel\n 	Have a learning difficulty or disability\n 	Have school aged children who receive means-tested free school meals.\n\n\n 	Not in work and looking to go into work\, now or in the future.\n\nIf you are unsure if you are eligible\, we are always happy to talk things through carefully.\n\nTo book a place\, please give us a ring on 01225 770 478.\n\nPlease get in touch if you have any questions.
