Starting a new school year\, moving class\, changes to routines\, family changes or trying new experiences can sometimes feel overwhelming for children. This course explores why some children find change difficult and provides practical strategies to help them feel prepared\, supported and confident. Who is this course for?This course is for parents\, carers and family members who would like to better support a child through change and transition. What will I learn?By the end of the session\, you will: Understand some of the reasons children may find change difficultExplore practical strategies to help children cope positively with changeLearn how visual supports\, such as visual timetables\, countdown calendars and social stories\, can help children prepare for changes and new experiencesDevelop confidence in supporting children through transitionsFind out where to access further information\, advice and supportCourse FormatThis is a live online session where you will learn alongside other parents and carers in a relaxed\, supportive and welcoming environment. The session includes tutor-led learning\, discussion and practical activities\, with opportunities to share ideas and explore strategies that can be used at home.
