DESCRIPTION:About this courseDoes your child find change difficult?  Starting a new school year\, moving class\, changes to routines\, family changes\, or trying new experiences can sometimes feel overwhelming for children.  This friendly online session will help parents and carers understand why some children struggle with change and explore practical ways to help them feel more confident\, prepared and supported. What will I learn?By the end of the session\, you will:  Understand some of the reasons children may find change difficult.Explore practical strategies to help children cope positively with change.Learn how visual supports\, such as visual timetables\, countdown calendars and social stories\, can help children prepare for changes and new experiences.Find out where to access further information\, advice and support.Who is this course for?This course is for parents\, carers and family members who would like to better support a child through change and transition. How will the course be delivered?This is a live online session where you will learn alongside other parents and carers in a relaxed\, supportive and welcoming environment. There will be opportunities to share ideas and take part in practical activities. Will I be assessed?You will be asked to complete some short paperwork to help record and support your learning journey. Cost and eligibilityCourses are no cost to learners who meet our eligibility criteria. Learners must be aged 19+ years\, have a Wiltshire postcode\, and meet residency requirements. Learners must also be able to tick one of the following criteria:individual income less than £25\,750 a year;in receipt of benefits (other than child benefit);be a care leaver\, foster carer or carer; be a military family or ex-armed forces personnel;have refugee or asylum seeker status; have a learning difficulty or disability;be looking to work\, now or in the future.If you do not feel you fit within the criteria\, we may still be able to help.  Please get in touch with us to discuss this further.
