IoT: devices connected and networked together through the Internet. Sometimes IoT devices are everyday devices that become Internet-enabled, and sometimes they are completely new devices that only make sense in a connected environment.
It’s been estimated that the number of IoT devices entering households will climb steeply from nine devices per household currently to 500 by 2022, with IoT connectivity being bundled into products whether people want it or not. Security is increasingly recognised as a massive issues – no wonder that the World Economic Forum identified IoT and the problems related to cyberattacks in its 2018 Global Risks Report.
This seminar will bring together technicians, academics and business leaders to consider the key issues, identify specific problems, and focus on areas for action. There will be keynote presentations and time for networking. Refreshments are provided.
The event will be hosted at Swindon’s new digital and co-working hub, Workshed, a short walk from the train station, and is supported by Enterprise Europe Network and TEN The Enterprise Network.
