DESCRIPTION:What’s this course about?  \n\nThis course will help you identify emotions associated with changes from primary to secondary school\, and how to deal effectively with emotions to help your child develop strategies to understand the changes ahead. \n\nCourse format:  \n\nThis is an online course where you’ll learn together and take part in practical group activities\, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.  \n\nWho will benefit from attending?  \n\nThis course is for parents and carers who want to learn how they and their family can develop communication skills\, problem solving skills\, interpersonal skills and the ability to be more resilient in times of stress. \n\nWhat will I learn?  \n\n 	Explore barriers to successful transition\, and ways to overcome them    \n 	Develop English and maths skills to understand how these topics are taught in school now \n 	How to use positive praise and develop communication skills \n\nHow long is the course?  \n\nThis is run as 2-hour sessions over 5 weeks\, with some activities to do at home to help you practise your skills.  \n\nWill I be assessed?  \n\nYou will be required to complete some paperwork during this course. This will record and support your learning journey and successes.  \n\nEntry Requirements:  \n\nIf you have 5 GCSEs grades A to C (5 O Levels) this course may not be suitable for you.
