SUMMARY:Working in Schools
DESCRIPTION:What’s this course about?     This course will help you to prepare for future employment working in schools. It gives an insight into the varied roles and activities you might be involved in and gives you the opportunity to learn alongside other like-minded people.  Course format:     This is an online course where you’ll learn together and take part in practical group activities\, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.     Who will benefit from attending?     This course is for people who want to work with children in educational settings  What will I learn?     About some of the many roles and responsibilities involved in working in schools  About statutory and non-statutory documents in their chosen age range  How to identify needs and support them How to report concerns and development points  About some of the causes of challenging behaviour and how to deal with it About planning for learning How long is the course?     This is run as 2-hour sessions over 5 weeks\, with some activities to do at home to help you practise your skills.     Will I be assessed?     You will be required to complete some paperwork during this course. This will record and support your learning journey and successes.     Eligibility: Courses are no cost to learners who meet our eligibility criteria. Learners must be aged 19+ on 31 August of the academic year\, have a Wiltshire postcode\, and meet certain residency requirements.
