SUMMARY:ESOL Creative Learning
DESCRIPTION:What’s this course about?   \nThis single session course aims to provide learners with basic cooking skills that they can adapt to encourage independence and confidence in the kitchen.  \nLearners will follow a basic single pot recipe and will make choices to ensure a balanced\, nutritious meal is created.  \nCourse format:   \nThis is a face-to-face course where learners will learn together and take part in practical group activities\, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.   \nWho will benefit from attending?   \nPeople who are looking to improve their independent living skills.  \nWhat will I learn?  \n\nA single pot recipe (and have more to take away) \n\n\nFeel more confident in adapting recipes. \n\n\nPrepare and cook foods safely. \n\n\nUnderstand how to use hygiene practices when preparing and cooking food. \n\n\nUnderstand timings when cooking \n\nWill I be assessed?   \nYou will be required to complete some paperwork during this course. This will record and support your learning journey and successes.   \nCourses are no cost to learners who meet our eligibility criteria. Learners must be aged 19+ years\, have a Wiltshire postcode\, and meet residency requirements. Learners must also be able to tick one of the following criteria: \n\nindividual income less than £25\,750 a year;\nin receipt of benefits (other than child benefit);\nbe a care leaver\, foster carer or carer; be a military family or ex-armed forces personnel;\nhave refugee or asylum seeker status; have a learning difficulty or disability;\nbe looking to work\, now or in the future.\n\nIf you do not feel you fit within the criteria\, we may still be able to help.  Please get in touch with us to discuss this further. \nClick the booking form link to book your place.
