Wiltshire Scrapstore

Wiltshire Scrapstore is an award winning environmental and community charity situated on the outskirts of Lacock.   The scrapstore collects resources that would otherwise go to landfill and redistribute them for creative activities and projects of all sorts.

There are currently two programmes that support young people back into education or employment.

  1. #iwill fund – This is to support young people who wish to volunteer on a Saturday or during the holidays to gain new skills and be able to evidence this on a CV so they can increase their employability. We offer placements in our cafe where they can learn to use a barista coffee machine (making cappucinos, lattes, americanos, mochas etc), prepare food and serve customers. Other areas of the charity include retail, learning to use a till, card machine, create displays and serve customers, Warehouse where they will collect resources from suppliers, sort and put out in our warehouse in a safe manner for our customers to collect. In our social enterprise, cutting shapes using a machine, creating packs and putting together items for sale in our retail outlets.
  2. St James Place fund – working with young people aged 14 – 18 during the term time who are struggling in the school environment or needing to gain work experience to increase confidence and self esteem. They will work one to one with our Young Peoples Support worker. All of the above areas of work are available.
