Swindon’s Bus Company is encouraging young people aged 18 and over to consider a career as a professional bus driver, offering paid training from day one and the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification in as little as seven weeks.
The initiative is designed to help young people begin a successful career without the need for a university degree. Trainees receive full support throughout the process, including training for their Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) qualification and learning local routes and services.

Competitive Pay
Swindon’s Bus Company offers attractive rates of pay, including:
- Trainee Drivers: £14.00 per hour
- Probationary Drivers: £15.50 per hour
- Fully Qualified Drivers: £16.00 per hour
- Enhanced rates for Sundays, overtime and Bank Holidays
Who can apply?
Applicants must:
- Be aged 18 or over
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Have some on-road driving experience
- Demonstrate good customer service skills
- Be willing to learn and work a variety of shifts
