Carly started on the Launch2Learn course in the Summer of 2021, she completed Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Level 1 in Maths. She then moved onto Somerset Skills and Learning where she is undertaking a Traineeship and her Level 2 in Maths. Our Education Employment Advisor (EEA) helped Carly to draft an email to enable her to gather references so she can apply for more work experience placements to gain further experience. The reference Carly received from Launch2Learn was so positive it really lifted her confidence! She continues to work hard towards her qualifications and finishing her Traineeship.

Rebecca’s school identified her as one who would benefit from our services, as she struggled to cope with the demand of School workload. She was later assigned to one of our Education Officers (EEA) who helped her to make a clear plan towards exploring the options that were open to her. This helped Rebecca to organise her workload and left time for revision. Having managed that, she was later inspired to apply for a carpentry course in college. This made her feel more focused on getting the grades she needed in school to be accepted onto the course she applied for. During the summer months Rebecca’s EEA continued to keep in contact to chat about any concerns she had around attending college. Rebecca has now finished her first term at college and feels happy that she made the right choice and was given the support to get where she is.
