Maths for business – Introduction to managing your company’s finances

If your business is established or you are a start up, this one day workshop can support you.

A morning session covering:

  • Basic core set of maths skills needed to run any business

The afternoon session will cover:

  • Understanding profit and loss, budgeting, cashflow, KPI setting and monitoring skills, forecasting with the clever use of Excel to help with basic and more advanced calculations along with statistics.

Those attending will be able to decide if they attend the morning or the whole day.

Rebel

Rebel Business School will be running online workshops to help you establish your business. Examples of content include;

  • How to start your business for free
  • How to build a website with no money
  • Paying tax and NI as self employed

Wild Figures 

A free six-week outdoors course, including a range of activities to support people’s wellbeing and improve number confidence such as budgeting, supporting children or grandchildren with maths, timekeeping, reading timetables, etc.

Wiltshire College

Basic Maths Course for Upskilling and Increasing Confidence

Sessions are taught at all 3 campuses (Trowbridge, Salisbury and Chippenham) and online.

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in a friendly and supportive environment to help you upskill and increase your confidence. You’ll gain knowledge by building basic numeracy maths skills that you use in everyday life situations such as banking, shopping, money, utility bills. DIY projects, cooking, gardening, driving, holidays, self-employment/business, childcare costs, maths games or travel. With the topics covered being tailored to your learning group’s needs.

Chippenham Community Hub

Numeracy Courses

Drop into the community hub every Tuesday and Wednesday 1:30pm – 2:30pm for 1-1 support, from working out your bus timetable, working on your finances or supporting your child with their Maths homework.

Choose Your Path: Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced!

• Beginners: Dive into the world of Excel! Learn to craft basic formulas and unravel the mysteries of spreadsheets.
• Intermediate: Ready to level up? Explore the wonders of Vlookups and IF functions to bring your data to life.
• Advanced: For the Excel wizards craving more, delve into the art of Pivot Tables, Index, and Match functions

We are also running free craft and advice sessions at Chippenham Library which will help boost your confidence and improve your everyday maths skills. 

Crafts range from making tote bags to macrame whilst advice sessions are informal with a cuppa and cake and one to one support just for you. 

You’ll receive free retail Evouchers for taking part.

Whitehead Ross

  • Cooking on a budget – develop your numeracy skills to enable you to cook on a budget, you will also receive a food parcel of ingredients and a recipe card to take home and cook a meal with. Based in Trowbridge and Devizes. To book email multiply@wiltshire.gov.uk
