Transitions – SEN & Anxiety
The aims of the course are to identify emotions associated with change, to look at how to deal effectively with emotions, to understand how to support your child in the transition within primary school, building relationships and support structures and to understand the changes ahead and how to plan for them.
What’s this course about?
This course will help you deal effectively with emotions, understand how to support your SEN child in their transitions through school, and to understand the changes ahead, and plan for them.
Course format:
This is an online course where you’ll learn together and take part in practical group activities, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Who will benefit from attending?
This course is for parents and carers who want to learn how they and their family can develop communication skills, problem solving skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to be more resilient in times of stress.
What will I learn?
- Explore barriers to successful transition, and ways to overcome them
- Develop English and maths skills to understand how these topics are taught in school now
- How to use positive praise and develop communication skills
How long is the course?
This is run as 2-hour sessions over 5 weeks, with some activities to do at home to help you practice your skills.
