Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteering is a great way to enhance your CV, improve your skills and boost confidence in different working environments. There are various opportunities available across Wiltshire now, find out more below.

  • Alzheimer’s Support’s successful Memory Shed is looking for handy and enthusiastic volunteers so that it can open a new Friday group at the Potley and Pockeridge Community Centre in Corsham. The Shed is a friendly group for men and women living with dementia who like making things and working with tools supported by trained volunteers. Projects include making bird boxes, memory boxes, wooden animals and outdoor planters. Members are also supported to work on their own chosen projects. Carers are welcome to join in as full members of the group. For more information about volunteering for Alzheimer’s Support and the Memory Shed, please contact Annie by phone on 01225 776481 or email Annie. Please note she works on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please phone the office for support at any other time.
  • Fans of gardening and the great outdoors are invited to volunteer at Alzheimer’s Support’s new monthly Muddy Boots Club in John Coles Park, Chippenham. The group will give people living with dementia and their carers the chance to be involved in a gardening project in the park’s sensory garden. Volunteers will support members in a variety of activities including pruning, digging, weeding and planting or just enjoying being outside. Each session also includes social time where members and volunteers can chat over tea and biscuits.
