This week, 5 – 11 October, is Dyslexia Week. Did you know that;
- 6.3 million people (around 10% of the UK population) have dyslexia.
- 1 in 6 adults has the reading level of an 11-year-old.
- People with dyslexia often have other conditions, including dyscalculia (difficulties with numbers), ADD (attention deficit disorder) and ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) (gov.uk).
The British Dyslexia Association has created lots of useful resources for schools, colleges and workplaces to raise awareness and shine a light on the power of dyslexia to create ideas, organisations and society and the invaluable contribution this makes to the UK.
