We have learned that one of our former participants on the Building Bridges programme has started their studies at university this autumn.

Very sadly, they were a victim of bullying at college which had left them feeling that college wasn’t the place for them and they dropped out.

After joining Building Bridges and with the mentoring of their Development Worker helping to rebuild their confidence, the young person felt able to go back. In collaboration with staff at the college, we made sure that appropriate support was put in place and the Development Worker even attended some classes along with the young person to make sure everything was going well.

Now we have the great news that another young person is on their way to obtaining an undergraduate degree.

This is just one of the many little victories that the team is helping to create on a regular basis.
