Another good news story from our Building Bridges colleagues, great to see such progress in a short period of time.

Monica* joined Building Bridges in November 2020, she had gained low grades in her Maths GCSE and found that this was holding her back from certain opportunities she wanted to apply for and limiting her career options.

Monica’s Building Bridges Development Worker helped her to identify a free Functional Skills Maths course being delivered by Go Train (visit our news item from Monday to learn more about Go Train). The benefit of this course was that it was being delivered via distance learning so she was able to study from home during lockdown.

With the support of her Development Worker, Monica managed to enrol onto the course, complete her initial assessments and start her studies in February 2021.

She is now on her way to achieving her Maths qualification and Go Train have already reported that she is making good progress.
