Georgina Bull, 20, completed a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship at Aster in December 2020. She has since progressed into a Recruitment role within Aster as a Talent and Resourcing Coordinator, we talked to her about her journey.
What has your journey looked like since leaving School?
I wanted to stay to do A-Levels but I didn’t get the grades so I went to College for 2 years, firstly to study Health and Social care and then I did a year of Beauty Therapy. I then worked as a waitress whilst looking for apprenticeships, this was the first Business Administration role I had applied for.
How have your roles differed in Aster?
The Business Administration apprenticeship involved arranging hotel bookings, raising purchase orders, booking conferences, arranging signing of tenants contracts and carrying out general administrative tasks for the business. In my new role in Recruitment I process applications, posting adverts, checking documents of new starters, creating contracts and handing them over to Payroll when they start. I never would of thought I would get this role, starting in a business administration role has opened up doors for me and enabled me to find out about the whole business.
What is your advice to others considering apprenticeships?
I think there was a lot of talk about trades as apprenticeships when I was at School but there are so many more in other areas, which I found out from friends. I would 100% do it if you’re thinking about it, College is good, but you can earn whilst you learn and it will open doors on an apprenticeship.
