What’s this course about?
The purpose of this course is to explore conflict and the ways that we can manage it in order to feel heard, but not make situations worse
Course format:
This is a face-to-face course where you will learn together and take part in practical activities
Who will benefit from attending?
This course is for adults who feel that they struggle with dealing with conflict or that conflict makes them feel anxious.
What will I learn?
- Learners will develop understanding of conflict
- Learners will talk about what conflict feels like to them
- Learners will explore two sides to conflict
- Learners will rehearse strategies using scenarios
How long is the course?
This is run as a single 2-hour session, with some activities to do at home to help you practise your skills.
Will I be assessed?
You will be required to complete some paperwork during this course. This will record and support your learning journey and successes.
FaCL courses are funded by the DfE.
Courses are no cost to learners who meet our eligibility criteria. Learners must be aged 19+ on 31 August of the academic year, have a Wiltshire postcode and meet certain residency requirements. You must also be able to tick one of the following criteria:
- On a lower income (individual income less than £25,750 a year)
- In receipt of benefits (other than child benefit)
- Not in work and looking to go into work, now or in the future
- Care leaver, refugee, foster carer, carer, military family / ex-armed forces personnel,
- Have a learning difficulty or disability
- Have school-aged children who receive means-tested free school meals
- Not in work and looking to go into work, now or in the future
