This two-hour course focuses on developing a thorough budget which allows for regular and one-off expenses.
Course format:
This is an online course where you’ll learn together and take part in practical group activities, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Who will benefit from attending?
This course is for adults who would like to learn practical ways to reduce costs, plan for the future and save money in their home.
What will I learn?
- How to sort spending into essential and non-essential expenditure.
- The benefits of setting and following a budget.
- How to create a budget which includes planning for regular and one-off expenditure.
How long is the course?
The session is 2 hours long.
Will I be assessed?
You will be required to complete some paperwork during this course. This will record and support your learning journey and successes.
FaCL courses are funded by the DfE.
Courses are no cost to learners who meet our eligibility criteria. Learners must be aged 19+ on 31 August of the academic year, have a Wiltshire postcode and meet certain residency requirements. You must also be able to tick one of the following criteria:
- On a lower income (individual income less than £25,750 a year)
- In receipt of benefits (other than child benefit)
- Not in work and looking to go into work, now or in the future
- Care leaver, refugee, foster carer, carer, military family / ex-armed forces personnel,
- Have a learning difficulty or disability
- Have school-aged children who receive means-tested free school meals
- Not in work and looking to go into work, now or in the future
