What’s this course about?
This course looks at how the teenage brain makes it more susceptible to anxiety. It considers what anxiety looks like and the stressors that teenagers face. We also explore ways to reduce stress, anxiety, and techniques that can be used at home as well as a range of different options for gaining support and knowledge to be able to support teenagers longer term.
Course format:
This is an online course where you will learn together and take part in practical group activities, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.

This course is for parents and carers who want to support their 12+ year old to navigate anxiety
What will I learn?
- understand a little more about brain development to understand how anxiety is generated
- Recognise the symptoms and effects of anxiety
- Discuss strategies to support teens to manage stressful situations and keep anxiety in check
- Find out where to go for further help, advice, and support
- On a lower income (individual income less than £25,750 a year)
- In receipt of benefits (other than child benefit)
- Care leaver, refugee, foster carer, carer, military family / ex-armed forces personnel
- Have a learning difficulty or disability
- Have school aged children who receive means-tested free school meals.
- Not in work and looking to go into work, now or in the future.
