What’s this course about?
The purpose of this course is to develop understanding of the different ways we communicate and the ways that we can promote positive image. We will explore verbal and written methods of communication, and you will learn to prepare and share information with the group.
Course format:
This is a face to face course where you’ll learn together and take part in practical group activities, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Who will benefit from attending?
This course is for adults who wish to improve their confidence and communication skills in order to work towards developing their skills in other ways such as employment, volunteering or community engagement.
What will I learn?
- To identify good speaking and listening skills
- To identify your own strengths
- To set yourself achievable goals
- To select and use appropriate methods of communication
- To use technology to support communication
- On a lower income (individual income less than £25,750 a year)
- In receipt of benefits (other than child benefit)
- Care leaver, refugee, foster carer, carer, military family / ex-armed forces personnel
- Have a learning difficulty or disability
- Have school aged children who receive means-tested free school meals.
- Not in work and looking to go into work, now or in the future.
