About this course
Life can sometimes bring challenges, setbacks and change. Resilience is the ability to adapt, cope and move forward when things don’t go as planned.
This supportive course will help you explore what resilience means to you, recognise your existing strengths, and discover practical ways to build confidence and wellbeing when facing life’s challenges.
What will I learn?
By the end of the session, you will:
- Explore what resilience means and why it is important.
- Reflect on times when you have successfully coped with challenges or change.
- Identify personal strengths that can help you overcome difficulties.
- Discover practical strategies to strengthen your resilience and wellbeing.
- Identify next steps for further learning, support or personal development.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for adults who would like to:
- Build confidence in dealing with change and uncertainty.
- Develop positive coping strategies.
- Reflect on their own strengths and achievements.
- Improve their wellbeing and resilience.
How will the course be delivered?
This course is available as either:
- Online – a 2-hour live session.
- In person – a 2.5-hour session, including induction and initial assessment.
Cost and eligibility
Courses are no cost to learners who meet our eligibility criteria. Learners must be aged 19+ years, have a Wiltshire postcode, and meet residency requirements. Learners must also be able to tick one of the following criteria:
- individual income less than £25,750 a year;
- in receipt of benefits (other than child benefit);
- be a care leaver, foster carer or carer; be a military family or ex-armed forces personnel;
- have refugee or asylum seeker status; have a learning difficulty or disability;
- be looking to work, now or in the future.
