What’s this course about?
The purpose of this course is to explore different celebrations around the world and discover how and why they are celebrated.
Who will benefit from attending?
This course is for parents and carers who want to support their child/children with their learning.
What will I learn?
- Discover a variety of different festivals and celebrations from across the world.
- Explore how these are celebrated.
- Learn how to create decorations and crafts to support the celebrations.
How long is the course?
This is run as a single 2-hour session, with some activities to do at home to help you practise your skills.
Will I be assessed?
You will be required to complete some paperwork during this course. This will record and support your learning journey and successes.

Time: 13:00-15:00
Courses are no cost to learners who meet the eligibility criteria:
Learners must be aged 19+ on 31 August 2024 to learn with Family and Community Learning this academic year. Learners must also have a Wiltshire postcode and either have lived in the UK/EU for three years or meet certain residency requirements (for example, certain types of immigration status are exempt from the three-year residency rule). Learners must also be able to tick one of the following criteria:
- On a lower income, earning less than £25,000 a year.
- In receipt of benefits (other than child benefit).
- Care leaver, refugee, foster carer, carer, military family / ex-armed forces personnel, learning difficulty or disability, or have school-aged children who receive free school meals.
- Not in work and looking to go into work, now or in the future.
