What is this course about?

Grow Your Community is a friendly and practical course designed to help you explore ways to make positive environmental changes in your local area.

Through discussions, activities and practical ideas, you will discover how small actions can make a big difference to your community and the environment. You will explore sustainable living, learn about growing and using your own vegetables, and find ways to make your neighbourhood greener.

The course also introduces opportunities to take part in citizen science projects and provides information about further learning, volunteering and employment opportunities.

This course is suitable for anyone interested in the environment, sustainability and making positive changes in their community.

Course Format

You will learn in a relaxed and friendly group environment alongside other learners with similar interests.

The course consists of five sessions, each lasting two hours. Sessions include tutor-led learning, group activities and opportunities for independent learning. There will also be activities to complete at home to help develop your knowledge and put your learning into practice.

What Support Will I Receive?

You will be supported throughout the course by an experienced tutor. Sessions are welcoming, interactive and designed to help learners build confidence while developing their knowledge and skills.
