What is this course about?
Supporting My Teen with Anxiety is a single-session course designed to help parents and carers better understand anxiety in teenagers and learn practical ways to offer support.
The course explores how the teenage brain develops and why this can contribute to anxiety. You will learn how to recognise signs of anxiety, understand common challenges teenagers face, and discover practical strategies to help reduce stress and improve emotional wellbeing.
Who is this course for?
This course is for parents and carers of teenagers aged 12+ who would like to better understand and support their child’s emotional wellbeing.
What will I learn?
By the end of the session, you will:
- Understand how teenage brain development can influence anxiety
- Recognise common signs and symptoms of anxiety in teenagers
- Explore common stressors and challenges affecting young people
- Learn practical strategies to support teenagers at home
- Develop confidence in supporting your teenager’s emotional wellbeing
- Find out where to access further help, advice and support
Course Format
This is an online course delivered in a relaxed and friendly environment.
The session includes tutor-led learning, discussion, practical activities and optional tasks that can be used at home to support your teenager’s wellbeing.
What Support Will I Receive?
You will be supported throughout the session by an experienced tutor. The course provides a welcoming environment where parents and carers can learn together, share experiences and gain practical ideas to support their teenager.
