What Works? Career related learning in Primary Schools

The Careers and Enterprise Company released an interesting report in December 2018 on the benefits of careers guidance starting as young as Primary School age.

The paper described the term ‘career related learning’ which should include early childhood experiences learning about a wide range of employment options and different routes into education.

The paper draws on evidence from academic literature and interviews with primary teachers.

The idea is to provide young children with aspirations and encouragement to become who ever they wish to be and to learn from role models who are outside of their immediate family circle, therefore finding out more about a variety of job roles and careers.

The full paper can be read on the Careers and Enterprise website.
