Wiltshire Music teachers and schools awards

Wiltshire Music Connect are pleased to launch the Wiltshire Music Education Awards – deadline for nominations is 5pm on Monday 15 June 2020.

These awards are designed to celebrate people and schools in the county who dedicate themselves to creating outstanding music education for children and young people.

For 2020, there are 5 award categories, each with their own criteria:
Wiltshire Primary School Music Teacher of the Year 2020
Wiltshire Secondary School Music Teacher of the Year 2020
Wiltshire Singing School of the Year 2020
Outstanding Contribution to Music Education Award 2020
Music Educator of the Year 2020 – Young People’s Choice

Melksham Community Grant Scheme 

Although the Melksham Area Board is not able to meet in public session, it can still consider and determine grant applications for funding.

If you are looking to fund a community project, you may be eligible for a community grant up to £5,000. Those who can apply include community or voluntary groups, community enthusiasts and town or parish councils. Full information in above link.

Young people share their wellbeing tips during COVID-19 

Young people have been sharing their wellbeing tips on how to manage everyday life during COVID-19.

While school routines have changed to home learning for most and there are restrictions in place for meeting up with friends during COVID-19, young people, including Members of the Wiltshire Youth Parliament have been speaking out about their own experiences.
