Can you tell us what Bath ASU does?
They are a company which are aseptic specialists in manufacturing based in Corsham, Wiltshire. Formed in 2006 from Bath University, supplying life-changing medicines to over 275 hospitals UK wide.
What is your day-to-day role?
In 2021 I was promoted to team leader and then at the start of this year a shift leader, which involves leading 12 team leaders, I organise the workflow, heading up improvement projects. Working 50/50 in the office and on the factory floor.
What advice would you give to apprentices starting out in their roles?
You will gain technical skills from your apprenticeship as a technician, crisis management, critical thinking, the on the job learning really helped. I think if you are coming straight from School, it’s a great way to ease into work life. Rather than learning without the experience, you will get time out to do the learning. I feel invested in and given time to do learning.
