Course format:
This is an online course where you’ll learn together and take part in practical group activities, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Who will benefit from attending?
This course is for parents and carers who want to support their 14+ year old with planning for their post 16 and post 18 changes.
What will I learn?
- understand a little more about brain development to understand teenage behaviour.
- identify your role in supporting your teenager’s next steps
- explore the training, employment and study options available to teenagers
- look at the impact of post 16 options on finances
- explore how to help your teen to have a positive online presence
- Understand how to support your young person to plan for the development of life skills, such as finances
- find out where to go for further help, advice and support
- On a lower income (individual income less than £25,750 a year)
- In receipt of benefits (other than child benefit)
- Care leaver, refugee, foster carer, carer, military family / ex-armed forces personnel
- Have a learning difficulty or disability
- Have school aged children who receive means-tested free school meals.
- Not in work and looking to go into work, now or in the future.
