What is this course about?
Discovering Resilience is a supportive course designed to help you explore the skills, strengths and strategies that can help you cope with life’s challenges, setbacks and changes.
Resilience is the ability to adapt, recover and move forward when things do not go as planned. Through reflection and practical activities, you will explore what resilience means to you, recognise your existing strengths and discover ways to build confidence and wellbeing.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for adults who would like to:
- Build confidence in dealing with change and uncertainty
- Develop positive coping strategies
- Reflect on their own strengths and achievements
- Improve their wellbeing and resilience
- Learn practical ways to manage challenges more effectively
What will I learn?
By the end of the session, you will:
- Explore what resilience means and why it is important
- Reflect on times when you have successfully coped with challenges or change
- Identify personal strengths that can help you overcome difficulties
- Discover practical strategies to strengthen your resilience and wellbeing
- Identify next steps for further learning, support or personal development
Course Format
This course is available as either:
- Online – a 2-hour live interactive session
- Face-to-Face – a 2.5-hour session, including induction and initial assessment
Sessions include tutor-led activities, group discussions, personal reflection and practical exercises in a supportive learning environment.
What Support Will I Receive?
You will be supported throughout the session by an experienced tutor in a welcoming and encouraging environment. You will have opportunities to reflect on your experiences, share ideas and develop practical strategies to support your wellbeing.

You will be asked to complete some course paperwork during the session. This helps record your learning and supports your learning journey and achievements.
