Resilience and Readiness

3 sessions a week for 4 weeks. 2 x F2F on Tuesdays 10am-12pm and 12:30-2:30pm 1 x online on Thursdays 10-12. What is this course about?  A four-week course that supports you to be able to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours that will help you to feel emotionally ready for work, with tools to develop confidence and resilience when searching for and starting work.  Course format:  This is a blended course where you will learn in person and online. You will learn together in a small group and take part in practical group activities, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.   Who will benefit from attending?   This course is for people who have been out of work for some time and have lost confidence.  What will I learn? 
  • How to feel more confident about yourself and your skills 
  • How to respond to life’s challenges and develop resilience  
  • How to use techniques to cope with stress 
  • How to gain and maintain motivation 
  • How to develop interpersonal skills and work with others in a team 
 How long is the course?  This is run over 4 weeks and there will be 3 sessions per week (2 x 2-hour sessions on one day and then a follow up session online later that week). There will be some activities to do at home to help you practise your skills.   Will I be assessed?  You will be required to complete some paperwork during this course. This will record and support your learning journey and successes.  FaCL courses are funded by the DfE. Courses are no cost to learners who meet our eligibility criteria. Learners must be aged 19+ on 31 August of the academic year, have a Wiltshire postcode and meet certain residency requirements. You must also be able to tick one of the following criteria:
  • On a lower income (individual income less than £25,750 a year)
  • In receipt of benefits (other than child benefit)
  • Not in work and looking to go into work, now or in the future
  • Care leaver, refugee, foster carer, carer, military family / ex-armed forces personnel,
  • Have a learning difficulty or disability
  • Have school-aged children who receive means-tested free school meals
  • Not in work and looking to go into work, now or in the future
