Supporting School Attendance is an online course designed for parents and carers who would like to better understand Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and learn practical ways to support their child.
The course explores the early signs of school avoidance and provides strategies to help children develop a positive relationship with school. Learners will gain a better understanding of the barriers some children experience and learn ways to support school attendance and emotional wellbeing.
There will also be an opportunity to meet and learn from an Assistant Educational Psychologist during a dedicated question and answer session.
Who is this course for?
This course is for parents and carers of children who are experiencing the early stages of school avoidance or attendance difficulties.

- Gain confidence in supporting your child’s wellbeing and school attendance
Course Format
This is an online course delivered in a relaxed and supportive environment.
The course consists of one two-hour session and includes tutor-led learning, discussion and opportunities to share experiences with other parents and carers.
There will also be a question and answer session with an Assistant Educational Psychologist.

The course provides a welcoming environment where parents and carers can learn alongside others facing similar challenges. You will receive guidance, information and practical ideas that can be applied at home to support your child.
