Taylor Maddock, 19, is on a Degree-Level Digital Marketing Apprenticeship at Premier Jobs UK. The recruitment company specialises in Financial Services Recruitment and are a keen supporter of Apprenticeships and the Kickstart scheme.
How did you come to the decision to pursue an apprenticeship?
I was set on going to University after completing my A-Levels and was going to do management of marketing. But I met Ryan (Sales and Marketing Director at Premier Jobs UK) at a careers fair at my School. I live really close by, a 20 minute walk, so this job made a lot of sense. I didn’t think I could do a marketing degree via an apprenticeship, I thought it was for other careers, that was my perception. I attend campus for 2 full days every 6-8 weeks, I have joined clubs and have a social aspect via the University, so I don’t feel I’m missing out.
Can you tell us what your role consists of?
I manage the day-to-day social media, helping to promote our vacancies, creating digital content including blogs, eBooks and video content via our newly launched You Tube channel and more. Supporting our team of consultants to promote the jobs they are trying to fill and content that we release. I have also created some content around apprenticeships which has been used by my old School – Kingsbury Green to try and help students understand Apprenticeships.
